With the world’s all consuming focus on technology and its ever changing capabilities, I find myself becoming impatient for things to happen quickly – say “like yesterday!” (forgetting momentarily that even with all of these unbelievable breakthroughs in applied science that God is still the one in control and it is His timing I should be waiting on – He wants the best for me).
This morning when I was reading a passage in Lamentations 3:22-24, “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”, I was reminded that my best times in life have been when I have waited on God’s timing! Patience is definitely an area I will continue to work on in my life.
God’s timing is his own and does not fit our timetable. I quit praying for patience years ago but am trying hard to follow God’s voice and leading and wait on him.
